Friedrich Alexander University
The Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg was founded in 1743 by Margrave Frederick of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Currently the university has around 38,000 students, who are offered a selection of 265 degree programs. The five faculties focus on technical, natural science, medical, legal, and economic sciences and philosophical-theological research. At these chairs, there are approximately 600 professors, 3,500 academic and 2,300 non-academic staff members employed. In 2020, more than 6,000 students successfully completed their studies. The Reuters Innovation Ranking places FAU in first place in Germany and 14th worldwide.
