The goal of Mission 4 is to develop a vision for an intelligent 6G radio modem “Made in Europe” that ensures technological sovereignty and is specifically tailored to the requirements of end-device technology and embedded systems. Through innovative design approaches, the foundation for a modem will be created that meets the needs of the German-European market, particularly in industrial applications and the automotive sector. This vision will be developed through feasibility and design studies in close cooperation with European manufacturers and users, and made accessible in a comprehensive catalog with implementation strategies and roadmap recommendations as a guideline for a 6G radio modem “Made in Europe”. The modem functions under consideration are differentiated into standardization-relevant and non-standardization-relevant IP blocks.
