Mission 6: Unified 3D Networks for Global Coverage

The increasing digitalization of society and the economy requires ensuring ubiquitous and uninterrupted network coverage. Insufficient coverage or undersupply in sparsely populated or maritime areas hinders applications such as connected and automated driving, digital agriculture, digital logistics, or digital maritime transport. To ensure the best possible uninterrupted coverage, 6G architectures are necessary in which flying and terrestrial network components form a unified 3D communication network. The goal of this mission is to develop cross-TN/NTN technologies for the Radio Access Network (RAN) and the Core network for highly efficient interaction between terrestrial and non-terrestrial connections.
