Excellent 6G research for transfer and sustainable utilization
Open6GHub+ continues the successful work of Open6GHub and leads it into a new phase of 6G development. Building on the research results achieved, the focus is now increasingly on transfer, implementation, and sustainable utilization. As a national 6G transfer hub, Open6GHub+ specifically transfers excellent research into industrial applications, standards, and markets.
The project thus closes the gap between 6G basic research and its economic and social impact. The work of Open6GHub+ focuses on secure and resilient communication systems, the use of Artificial Intelligence for 6G, and the support of AI-based services through 6G. Other focus areas include digital twins, new 3D network architectures incorporating satellite-based systems, and the targeted strengthening of technological sovereignty for Germany and Europe. In open experimental fields and OpenLabs, these technologies are tested, validated, and further developed together with industry, startups, SMEs, and public actors.
Open6GHub+ is a central component of the German 6G strategy and creates the conditions for Germany and Europe to not only use 6G but to actively help shape it.

Events
Open6GHub+ marks the transition from 6G basic research to broad-based transfer. Together with industry, we want to develop and test solutions at an early stage that prove themselves in real networks—from AI-supported 6G networks to new 3D network architectures. In doing so, we are creating the foundation for Germany and Europe to not only use 6G but to actively help shape it.
Missions
Concrete technological goals are defined and implemented together with partners from business and society. This results in a technological output that flows directly into international standards and serves as a basis for new products.
