Friedrich Alexander University

The Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg was founded by Margrave Friedrich of Brandenburg-Bayreuth in 1743. The university currently has around 38,000 students who are offered a choice of 265 different degrees. The five faculties focus on technical, scientific, medical, legal, economic and philosophical-theological research. Approximately 600 professors, 3,500 scientific and 2,300 non-scientific employees work in these departments. In 2020, more than 6,000 students successfully completed their studies. The Reuters Innovation Ranking places the FAU first place in Germany and 14th worldwide.
